A final year 6 week studio project done by Mark while at
Carleton University School of Architecture in Ottawa Canada.
Visting critic and studio organiser John Hejduk was the
former head of the Cooper Union School of Architecture in
NewYork. The brief involved the analysis of the painting "The
Battle of San Romano" by Paulo Ucello (housed in the
National Gallery in London) and a response through drawing
and model.
Hejduk Project
The marionette like qualities of the figures in the painting
were interpreted and expressed primarily in model. The
image on our home page was produced as a form of as-built
record drawing. The works were presented and exhibited in
NewYork at the end of the studio. John Hejduk sadly passed
away in July 2000.
